The Story Behind Lake & Spruce

The name Lake & Spruce reflects the landscape and character of Northwestern Ontario, drawing inspiration from the lakes, forests, and natural surroundings that are part of life in Thunder Bay.

For longtime guests, the restaurant may be familiar under another name.

Lake & Spruce was formerly known as Chicago Joe’s. The new name marked a new chapter for the restaurant following the change in ownership of Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre.

Today, Lake & Spruce continues to welcome both familiar faces and new guests at the same West Arthur Street location.
